How can I get a count of items in a user’s Exchange mailbox?
Use PFDAVadmin and enable logging to file.
1. Tools Menu > Options > Enable logging to file checkbox
2. Tools Menu > Export Properties
3. Select only the following three properties
PR_CONTENT_COUNT : 0×36020003
PR_DISPLAY_NAME : 0×3001001E
PR_FOLDER_PATHNAME : 0×66B5001E
4. Choose a file path to save to
5. Click OK to start processing.
Note: You may find better success importing the resultant file to MS Access if your exchange environment is extremely large. The reason for this is due to versions of Excel and limits they have, to the number of records per worksheet.

In a changeover from Outlook 2000/2002 to 2003, I have come across some issues with mailbox rules and views. Quite a few times, the answer is running Outlook 2003 with an extra startup switch that will clean and check some of the settings.
Here’s a little issue that can stump quite a few people because the solution isn’t real obvious.
Scenario: You setup a mail enabled public folder in Exchange and it works great internally. You send some test messages from a public web mail account and nothing shows up. You check your inbound mail filter (you do have one, right?) and it shows a delivered status. No error messages, no Non-Deliverables, it just disappears into a black hole.
If you have a Barracuda Spam Firewall, there is a hidden tab in the management GUI that allows modification of some additional advanced parameters.
