Many times when Personal Folders/Archives are created in Outlook, you end up with the interesting names “Personal Folders” or “Archive Folders”. How can you change this to something a little more useful?
Right-click on the Personal Folder in the navigation pane. From the popup menu select Properties. Click on the Advanced button and change the Name field. Click Ok, and then Ok again.
Also worth noting, is that you can see the location of the .PST file in question here, as well as, compact the file. If you have made a lot of changes to a personal folder file’s contents, you can reduce the file size by compacting it. Deleting messages in a Personal Folder does not recover the space used by the PST, you need to manually use the Compact Now button pictured below.
